Senior RF Engineer
Position Overview
- Telecommunication system design, planning and optimization duties
- Provide radio frequency design of wireless systems
- Perform RF propagation modeling and prediction
- Perform interference analysis and performance recommendations
- Specify equipment layout design for new sites
- Evaluate and specify ancillary equipment needed for new builds
Essential Job Function
- Design and plan radio communication systems
- Oversee the work of more junior engineers
- Manage specific projects
- Perform network design for new sites using RF propagation and prediction tools
- Cell site equipment layout
- BSS parameter audits and recommendations
- Oversee equipment installation
- Specify ancillary equipment such as antennas and lines
- Participate in candidate site walks and make recommendations for new site locations from an RF perspective
- Perform system drive test, data collection and analysis
- Analyze system parameters and make recommendations for KPI improvement
- Monitor and report system statistics
- Microwave path design
Position Qualifications
- Minimum of BSEE degree, MSEE preferred
- 3+ years industry experience
- Experienced with infrastructure equipment from one or more of the following vendors: Lucent, Nortel, Motorola, Nokia, Ericsson
- Solid understanding of one or more of the commonly used wireless communications technologies: CDMA, GSM
- Solid understanding of the latest data technologies: EV-DO, UMTS, HSDPA
- Experience with commercially-available drive test data collection and analysis tools such as Agilent, X-Tel and Actix
- Experience with network design software such as CelPlan, TEMS, or Planet
- Experience with Microsoft office tools a must
- Willingness to travel
Working Conditions
